Field data, captured in the field.
Conservis makes farm management software. Growers use it to track field activity and analyze yields across an operation. At Foundry I led design as the product suite expanded, with a mobile app for the field and new reporting tools for the farm's financial data.
If the essential data on a farm comes from the field, capture it there. The mobile app keeps every worker current on what needs doing and lets them log progress as they work. A grower can follow each acre from planting through grain storage as it happens.
Growers think field by field.
Every grower we talked to wanted data specific to their own fields and crops, down to yield per acre. Even when they're planning and doing the accounting from the office, they think about the operation field by field. So the dashboard puts a map at its core, and the latest numbers always connect to a real place.

Field records into financial reports.
Every farm is different, so every dashboard is personalized. Growers rotate crops and shift focus through the season and from year to year, and the dashboard's widgets have to keep up. At handoff we left the Conservis team the documentation to build new widgets themselves.
Even the most successful growers apply for loans regularly, which means translating handshake land agreements and bushels per acre into the kind of financial data a banker needs. The custom budget reports pull from everything in a grower's account, fertilizer costs to commodity prices, and bundle it into a print-ready PDF a grower can hand to a lender.
